Since the XI Th. century, the name Ramírez de la Piscina is linked with descendants of Navarra Kings who fought in the first Crusade and also counts within their relatives the famous Cid Campeador.
This name is very strongly rooted in the small village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, centre of the little specific area of the Sonsierra, in the heart of La Rioja Alta.
Bodegas Ramírez de la Piscina mades its wines with grapes proceeding from its own vineyards located in Abalos and from other very carefully selected estates.
The tradicional winification by the carbonic maceration method is backed up by and advanced technology.
This explains why our wines were awarded an impresive list of prizes in the international wine competitions: Gold Medal 1993 in Euroalimentación Bilbao for the 1992 vintage. Silver medal for the 1990 Crianza in the INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE Blaye-Bourg 1994. Gold medal for the 1993 Crianza at the Blaye-Bourg (Vinexpo) Competition 1996. First Gold medal for the 1990 Reserva at the Madrid World Bacchus Competition 1996, and others in Montreal, Brussels... |
