· General description:
Bodegas Matarredonda is a newly-coined wine cellar but we are endorsed by an old wisdom in the wine elaboration in our centenary district.

Their wine manufacture philosophy joins tradition in cultivation ways and the highest technology in the grape selection and procedures. As a result of our enterprise philosophy we present our red wine Tinto Libranza, able to please the most demanding palates.

Our commitment to quality implies doing our job well, by always giving the natural winemaking process the time it needs. Fourteen months in Bordeaux barrels made of French Allier oak and another year's finishing in the bottle produce Libranza, an elegant wine that keeps its violet tone and naturally blends the fruitiness one expects from the Tinta de Toro grape with the nuances of oak.

In the winemaking process, technique is fundamental for ensuring wine quality. Our grapes undergo an exhaustive selection in the vineyard and then again in the winery. This selection forms the basis of our method, where we check all the natural variables involved in fermentation right down to the last detail, so that our wine will take on the fine qualities that aging brings out all on its own, without the need for extra clarifying or filtering.

Our district escaped the terror of phylloxera in the nineteenth century. Today our vines provide a full-bodied, deep magenta grape with a character all its own, intense as the summer sun and bursting with all the richness of its over one hundred year old estate.

In the Toro district of the Spanish province of Zamora, climate, soil, and the Douro river caress our centuries-old vineyards on the Salgadero, Matarredonda and Matalobas estates, cradle of the "Tinta de Toro" grape, the finest of raw materials for making a great wine.
