· General description:
Right in the heart of the Alicante mountains, in the district of the Marina Alta and in a beautiful natural setting that invites you to rest surrounded by vantage-points overlooking the sea and the mountains, is Camping Lauar, of 2nd category, 50 kilometres from the beaches of Jávea, Dénia, Moraira and Calpe and only 50 kilometres from the theme park “Terra Mítica”.

The modern installations of Camping Lauar include a restaurant with kitchen, open-air covered dining-room, tables and benches, wash-stands and toilets for 250 plots.

There is also the possibility to rent bungalows for 4, 6 and 8 people complete with kitchen, toilets, heating, fridge and television.

The Lauar campsite has a camping area with capacity for 200 people and two dining-rooms, built in a cosy, old-fashioned style that will delight our visitors. Because of its position in the mountains, from the campsite you can enjoy trips on foot, by bicycle or on horseback over a radius of 25 kilometres.

La Vall de Laguar is known as the “trekking capital” by the Valencian Trekking Federation

La Vall de Laguar was the last stronghold of the Moorish uprising in 1609, the lay of the land made it impregnable to Christian troops until the very end.La Vall de Laguar offers impressive routes for excursionists.

Its walking routes are famous for their difficulty, such as the impressive Barranc de l’Infern.Along ancient pathways we will reach hidden spots with crystal-clear springs, caves and cliffs decorated with cave paintings of great historical value. The well-known PRV 147 is a short walking route in the municipal district of La Vall de Laguar. It is a closed circuit of 14.5 kilometres and has 6,500 stone steps of Moorish origin. The fauna and flora of the walkway are really spectacular.

La Vall de Laguar is formed by three villages: Fleix, Benimaurell and Campell. None of them has over 400 inhabitants, and this shows that it is a quiet and peaceful place. Its main economic activity is the cultivation of its famous cherries, thus offering a landscape of impressive beauty.

The valley is formed by the river Jalón or Gorgos which, from the Vall de Alcalá and the Barranc de l’Infern, flows into the sea at Jávea. Among its most important monuments are the Moorish churches of the three villages. The Isbert marsh, the top of the mountain “Del Caball Verd”, “La Cova Foradá”, “La Font de Gel” and the ruins of the “Les Escales” castle are a few of the many places where visitors will be pleasantly surprised.
