Can Xargay is a millenial country house, XI century situated 2 km. far of Banyoles lake.
It´s antiquity states it as one of the first houses of the Mata´s village.
Situated at the Pla de l´Estany´s heart, 175 metres high. Privilegied place because it´s between the sea and the mountains.
In front of the country house you can see the Rocacorba´s mountain range while in the north mountainside prevails the majestic Pirineu.
The ideal house´s situation permites you to do varied excursions through Pla de l´Estany by bike or on foot. But, if you want, there are horses 2 km. far. |

- Minnium a weekend.
- High season: Sant week, july and august (the rest days is low season) and the rentals are a minium of one week, from Saturday to Saturday.
- In low season the rentals are more economical from weekday to weekday, not taking up 2 weekends.
- From monday to thursday in low season, 20% discount with a posibility of groups from 4-5 persons.
- If it is necessary, we can put more beds in the bedrooms (15€ bed/day).

The history of the Farmhouse
Can Xargay is a millenary farmhouse of XI century whose antique name was Mas Bratlle.
It´s the big house of this neighbourhood, the other houses were little farmhouses.
Bratlle´s family lived in the house during a lot of centuries. This family was very rich because they were owners of the village´s lands .
Nearly 2 centuries ago, Xargay´s family came into the house like a farmers and in 1950´s the Xargay´s family bought the farmhouse where have lived a lot of Xargay´s family generations.
The Bratlle´s family went to Barcelona and they sold all their lands.
During the centuries, a lot of reforms have been done in the house, for example there was built a house near it, the shelter where, nowadays, there´s the barbecue, had been a bakery where Mata´s people baked the bread.
Nowadays, the farmhouse is adapted at the rural tourism with all the comfort of the actual houses. All of the farmhouses´s walls are the originals and stone vaults that there´re in the basement too. In the farmhouse you can enjoy the special silence. The thick stone walls of the farmhouse are warm in winter and cool in summer. |
