The old Cortijo Balzain was originally built before the 17th century and has been carefully restored into a beautiful resort with 9 rural houses. All the original structures - timbered ceilings and stone walls were respected during the restoration work.
Balzaín is situated in the Natural Reserve of Sierra Nevada, Due to its exceptional location, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular views of both the Alhambra old-town and the summits of Sierra Nevada.
Granada, 8 km / Ski Station, 30 km / Tropical Coast,45 km
Balzaín is a resort full of charm, peace and tranquillity. The perfect place to relax and to enjoy nature.
The Rural Cottages in Balzaín are like a small village in the middle of a natural reserve surrounded by snow covered mountains, pine tree forests and Rural paths ideal for relaxing strolls.
The surrounding landscape is planted with almond and walnut trees, and poplar groves, and a walk through the mountain paths will get you to get to the heart of Sierra Nevada. |

Rural Houses
The names of the houses evoke ancient traditions and bring to mind the Rural lifestyle of our ancestors: the stable, the cowshed, the strawloft, the granary, the courtyard...
These are houses with a real Andalusian Rural house atmosphere, situated in a beautiful Rural area, next to a spring and surrounded by Rural paths and poplar groves.
The rural houses are simply equipped but offering a maximum comfort.
Facilities at the rural houses:
Furnished kitchen: Refrigerator, squeezer, microwave-grill, oven-toaster, beater, pressure cooker and all the cutlery necesary.
1-2 bathrooms: Baths with showers, hair drier, soap and shower gel, hygienic bags, sanitary seal on toilet.
Lounge- Dining-room- Two triple sofas, TV, tables and chairs,ceiling fan and lamps.
2-3 double bedrooms: with wardrobes,laminated bedbase and flex mattress model hotel-lux. Ceiling fans, night lamps, mirror and security box.

The Cortijo House is situated on a prominent place and is like a great balcony towards Granada framed by the peaks of Sierra Nevada. From minimum 19 people till 29 people

Rural restaurant
The Rural restaurant has a wood-burning oven, a fireplace corner, a farm tool gallery, the drying room for hams and a viewpoint to enjoy the stars. All these are perfect complements to make this rural spot charming, peaceful and calm.
In the rural restaurant, attend by the farmers, you can taste a delicious homemade meal with fresh ecological vegetables, just collected from our cultivated gardens.
The farmers will offer you fresh eggs and fowls, cured hams and sausages produced on the farm, honey from the beehives and roast lambs (cooked in wood ovens).
* Private swimming-pool only available from July 1st to Sept 15th for 2 week minimun booking. The maintenance and cleanliness is at the expense of the guest. Its use could be replaced by the commun swimming-pool without supposes a contractual change. |
