Santa Olalla is a small village in Valdeolea, south-west Cantabria (in the North of Spain), in the region of Campóo-Los-Valles. At 1000 m. above sea level it is considered a high mountain area.
It is surrounded by meadows and forests of oak, beech and holly. Its’ varied wildlife benefits from the enormous natural resources of the area and the sparse human population in the valley. The area has a very rich cultural and historical heritage.
The nearest and most important towns are Reinosa (11 Km.) and Mataporquera (10 Km.), situated on the N-611 Santander-Palencia road (A- 67). In this towns there are supermarkets, medical center, bus and train stations and the main services.
