Sant Joan de Binissaida is a rural lord house located in the Spanish Island of Minorca. Quotations of this old farmhouse can be already found in the earliest documents drafted by James II, a few years after the Catalan conquest of Minorca in 1287.
Today, Sant Joan de Binissaida is an operating rural property. It has a land extension of 30.000 acres, half of which are beautifully composed of pine and wild olive trees, and the rest are used for growing the necessary crops to feed both our large sheep's herd and Retxa, our lovely black horse, all of them of pure Minorcan indigenous breed.
The lord house, built in the XVIII century, has experienced many transformations through the years. Today, whilst keeping its traditional character, Sant Joan de Binissaida has embodied all the necessary services to become the place to stay and relax.
All of the above leads to Sant Joan organising itself as a high quality agro-tourism establishment, offering its guests the opportunity to comfortably enjoy our wonderful landscapes, listen to the marvellous silence and breath the most pure air of Minorca. |

Today, Sant Joan de Binissaida has 8 rooms, all of them set up following the most pure traditional Minorcan style. All the rooms enjoy a great view over the landscape or over the entry of the Harbour of Mahón. The rooms are fully equipped with all the necessary facilities for the client's maximum comfort (TV, telephone, wireless Internet access, safe-deposit boxes, etc.).
The Rossini Room, located at the ground floor, has been completely adapted for handicapped.
The Wagner Suite is a wonderful suite located on the top floor and composed of two double rooms, one bathroom, a comfortable living room and a large private terrace with great views on the countryside, the Cala de Sant Esteve and the entry to the Harbour of Mahón.
Puccini is a double room with bathroom located on the first floor with a wonderful view on the countryside surrounding Sant Joan de Binissaida.
Verdi is a family room located on the first floor composed of two double rooms -one of which with a double bed- one bathroom and a wonderful view on the countryside surrounding Sant Joan de Binissaida.
Donizzetti, located on the first floor, is a double room with a double bed, one bathroom and a wonderful view on the countryside surrounding Sant Joan de Binissaida.
Bellini, located on the first floor, is single room with bathroom and a wonderful view on the countryside surrounding Sant Joan de Binissaida.
Rossini, located on the ground floor, is a double room with bathroom, private terrace and a wonderful view on the countryside surrounding Sant Joan de Binissaida. Rossini has been completely adapted for handicapped.
Everyday, our experienced French Chef will surprise you with a new and attractive culinary offer, based on fresh daily produce from the island. Traditional recipes from Minorca will be wisely combined with innovative dishes that will delight you with the last trends in flavours, colours and tastes. |

Sant Joan de Binissaida is located in the Eastern side of the Spanish Island of Minorca. The area is called Binissaida and is found between the towns of Es Castell and Sant Lluís, very close to Maó (Mahón), the capital of Minorca.
