Castellón (Catalan, Castelló) is a province of eastern Spain, in the northern part of the autonomous community of Valencia. It is bordered by the provinces of Valencia, Teruel, Tarragona, and the Mediterranean Sea. Its capital is Castellón de la Plana.
Castellón is a province along the Mediterranean coast. Full of beautiful cities surrounded by long stretches of fortress walls, there are plenty of things to see. Its cave paintings at Valltorta and Ares, as well as the medieval altarpieces in the Cathedral of Segorbe, contrast with the contemporary pieces exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Villafamés.
Other attractions in Castellón include the underground Vall d'Uixó river and the mountain goats at the Reserva Nacional de Caza, the National Hunting reserve. Other major cities of the province include Villareal. |
